HI, I am trying to use TwinowsMediaPlayer in my program. and I find it is ok to play format such as: avi, mpg but when I try to play mp4 vedio, I get error: "Raised exception class EMCIDeviceError with message "Can't determine the device type from the given filename extension" :( But when I use Windows media player to watch this video, there is no problem. I have windows xp bcb 6.0 windows media player 10 in my computer // String fname ="C:\\MOVIE\\african_queen.mp4"; // get error when play this // String fname = "C:\\Music\\movie\\Birthday Girl.avi"; // this is ok String fname = "C:\\Music\\movie\\baby_doll.mpg"; // This is ok IWMPMediaPtr media = WindowsMediaPlayer1->mediaCollection->add(WideString(fname).c_bstr()); WindowsMediaPlayer1->URL = media->get_sourceURL(); WindowsMediaPlayer1->controls->play(); Could anyone help me on this:) Thanks

Do I need to locate the mp4 decode for the player by myself?
